Update #1The victim in this case has been identified as Shakeya Smith (20 YOA). Detectives were able to view neighborhood security cameras that captured the incident. The footage they observed led them to charge Moses Dyl (pictured above) with one count of Felony Murder and one count of Aggravated Assault.

 Dyl was last seen in Lithonia (pictured above) sometime after the incident. Dyl is described as a black male, 5’11”, weighing approximately 200 lbs, with black hair and a black beard. Dyl is to be considered armed and dangerous.

(Buford, GA September 12th, 2020) GCPD Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide that occurred on Roxwood Park Drive at Woodward Mill road that resulted in the death of one person.

At approximately 5:09 am officers assigned to the North Precinct responded to an injured person in the roadway.  When officers arrived they located one female victim, already deceased. The identity of the victim is unknown at this time.

CSI is processing the scene and Detectives are working on a timeline of events, identity of the victim, and exact cause of death. There is no suspect information at this time.
