Original, 03/10/2020:  (Duluth, Georgia) A personally-owned dash camera captured a man breaking into and stealing a purse from an SUV in the Duluth area.

On Sunday, February 16, at about 1:40pm, an unknown male suspect parked his dark-colored Honda near a Ford SUV in the parking lot at 3850 Venture Drive in unincorporated Duluth.  After utilizing a tool to manipulate the lock, the suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and sat in the driver’s seat.  He stole a white purse and its contents.

What the suspect didn’t know was that the entire crime was captured on the personally-owned dash camera mounted in the SUV.  The forward and rear-facing cameras captured the suspect’s vehicle and clear images of the suspect himself.

The lead detective assigned to the case is asking the public to view the photos and/or video and to call in with tips about the suspect’s identity.  The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a short-trimmed beard and black hair.  He was wearing a grey jacket, grey sweatpants, black and white sneakers, and a blacked-out Atlanta Braves ball cap with a reflective sticker on the bill.
