(Lawrenceville, GA) On Saturday, August 1, 2020 at approximately 8:30PM officers assigned to the Bay Creek Precinct responded to a landlord-tenant dispute at 1645 Ivey Pointe Court in unincorporated in Lawrenceville.  When officers arrived on scene, they met with the tenant who had visible injuries.  When officers attempted to make contact with the landlord, who also lives at this address, he barricaded himself in the house.

Officers learned that the landlord, Mr. Allan Moore (64 years old), owned a firearm, had retired after 30 years with the New York Department of Corrections SWAT Team at Rikers Island, had had previously been diagnosed as schizophrenic and bi-polar. Given Mr. Moore’s background and mental condition the Gwinnett County SWAT Team was activated at approximately 10:00pm.  Negotiators worked throughout the night and Mr. Moore surrendered peacefully at 7:15AM on Sunday, August 2, 2020. 

Mr. Moore was transported to the Gwinnett County Detention Center and charged with Battery, Obstruction of Justice, and Terroristic threats.  Please contact the Gwinnett County Sherriff’s Office for booking photographs and information.  We are thankful that this situation was resolved peacefully, without injury, and thank the residents for their patience.
