CELEBRATE THE HARVEST SEASON AT THE GWINNETT ENVIRONMENTAL AND HERITAGE CENTER

(Buford, Ga., Aug. 16, 2018) — Celebrate the harvest season at the Apple Harvest Festival on Aug. 26 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chesser-Williams House, on the grounds of the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center.

Built in the late 1800s by a German itinerate painter traveling through Gwinnett County, the interior and exterior of the Chesser-Williams house is decorated with beautiful folk art as his payment in exchange for his room and board. The festival will feature numerous activities including apple cider pressing, apple butter making, harvest flavored games, crafts and more. There will be live music by local artists and folktales as told by the resident storyteller. Step back in time to meet members of the Chesser family as they demonstrate various trades and handicrafts necessary for the running of their home in the 1800s. A number of modern craftspeople and artists will also be on hand to showcase their wares.

The entry fee is $8 per person for Gwinnett residents and $16 per person for non-residents. Children age two and under are free. Attendees can pre-register and pay online using the REC1 activity code EHC38130, or pay the day of the event. For more information, visit www.gwinnettEHC.com.
