OFFICIALS GATHER TO BREAK GROUND ON GEORGIA STATE PATROL POST IN GWINNETT COUNTY

WHAT:  Gwinnett County Government officials and representatives from the Georgia Department of Public Safety and the Georgia Department of Transportation will gather to break ground on the site of the new Georgia State Patrol Post in Gwinnett County.

The new Georgia State Patrol Post will replace Georgia State Police Post 51 currently located at 1645 Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth. The post will house command staff offices, a troopers’ dayroom, classroom, evidence storage, dormitory space for 16 troopers and a HERO Unit dayroom. The site also provides parking for GDOT’s HERO units.

WHEN: Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 4 p.m.

WHO: Gwinnett County Administrator Glenn Stephens will emcee the event. Board of Commissioners Chairman Charlotte Nash, District 1 Commissioner Jace Brooks, Col. Mark McDonough of the Georgia State Patrol and Georgia Department of Transportation Commissioner Russell McMurry will provide remarks.

WHERE: Parking is available atRock Springs Park, 310 Old Peachtree Road NE, Suwanee, Ga. 30024. A shuttle will transport guests to the event site.
